We'll kick off our route in the iconic Praça da República. At this meeting point, we'll start learning about the city's history, its connection to the Lima River and the sea, and the details of some of its most iconic buildings and monuments. Get ready for a seriously complete free tour!
We'll stroll through the streets of the historic center to Viana do Castelo Cathedral, the perfect spot to uncover the secrets of this old church. From there, we'll head to the Costume Museum, ideal for taking a closer look at the traditional tiles decorating Viana do Castelo's facades.
We'll also pass by Pastelaria Natário, a true local institution famous for its bolas de Berlim (Portuguese cream-filled doughnuts), and Rua Manuel Espregueira, perfect for admiring bourgeois architecture and traditional Portuguese tiles. The tour will also take us past Praça de São Domingos, the Gil Eannes Hospital Ship, Avenida dos Combatentes, and the Sá de Miranda Theater, a true symbol of local cultural life.
