We'll meet beside the historic Lorraine Motel, infamously known as the site of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination in 1968. At this iconic location, we'll start uncovering the paranormal events and sightings that still give visitors chills today.
Next, we'll walk over to The Arcade Restaurant, the oldest cafe in Memphis and one of Elvis Presley's favorite hangouts. There, we'll hear eerie tales of ghost sightings peering through the windows after dark. We'll continue our route exploring the turbulent past of former brothels and taverns like Earnestine & Hazel's, considered both a birthplace of the blues and one of the most haunted buildings in the country. It's said that spirits play the jukebox all by themselves once the live music stops!
Along the way, we'll also admire the Victorian facades of the historic John Alexander Austin House and the old Pontotoc Hotel, which served as a secret hideout for influential mobsters and bootleggers back in its heyday. We'll reveal the tragic legends that marked its rooms and the shadows that still seem to wander its hallways.
To wrap things up with your heart racing, we'll discover the famous story of young Mary, a ghost who has haunted the boxes of the majestic Orpheum Theatre since the early 20th century. We'll end the tour back at the original starting point 1 hour later.
